Ecopreneur.eu new member of the Consultation Forum for Ecodesign & Energy Labelling
Ecopreneur.eu is proud to participate as SMEs representative in the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Consultation Forum (EELCF) from the European Commission. Our first meeting took place on the 1st of February in Brussels.
The first meeting with Ecopreneur.eu was a rather exceptional one, having been called together in response to the annulation of the Energy Labelling regulation by the European Court of Justice in a court case won by Dyson. This company won a legal battle over energy labeling of vacuum cleaners back in November 2018. The label must be removed from devices that have already been manufactured (click here for more information).
Ecopreneur.eu is looking forward to further discussions with this Consultation Forum, especially on integrating circular economy in regulations. To start with, by including resource efficiency considerations such as ease of repair, reuse and recycling for specific product groups such as vacuum cleaners. Second, by introducing minimum requirements for circular design for all end products. In relation to eco-design and eco-labeling, Ecopreneur.eu also recently filed a response with position paper to the public consultation “Towards an EU Product Policy Framework contributing to the Circular Economy”.
