SME Representative for Environmental Footprinting methods (2026 - 2028)
Period: April 2026 - April 2028
Ecopreneur.eu and the Dutch consultancy PRé Sustainability have been selected by the European Commission as the Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) Representative in the framework of the EU Environmental Footprint methods. The rules on how to use these methods are undergoing revisions. They are relevant to how environmental performance is measured and verified under EU product legislation.
As SME representative, we will ensure input from SMEs by representing them in European Commission expert group meetings, and by commenting on draft new rules and tools related to the environmental footprint. Our aims are to bring in the small business perspective, strengthen support for sustainable entrepreneurship, and ensure that new rules are workable for smaller companies.

ORIENTING (2020 - 2024)
Period: January 2020 - April 2024
An EU-Horizon 2020 funded project ORIENTING that has developed a robust and operational methodology for the Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) of products and services. The “S” from “Sustainability” indicates that this LCA methodology will consider environmental, social and economic impacts in an integrated way. It should also assess goods produced under linear as well as circular business models, allowing practitioners to understand and manage possible trade-offs. Ecopreneur.eu is responsible for analysing the market potential and focuses on creating maximum added value for SMEs.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 958231
