Ecopreneur.eu establishes EU Ecolabel SME Working Group
As SME Representative for the EU Ecolabel, Ecopreneur.eu is launching a dedicated Working Group to bring SME voices into the revision of EU Ecolabel criteria. The group will provide a structured forum for small and medium-sized businesses - whether existing licence holders, companies applying or those considering certification - to share practical experience, give feedback on changes proposed by the EU, propose their own improvements, identify administrative barriers, and feed concrete input into the EU policy process. The work is carried out in collaboration with EU Ecolabel Representative adelphi.
Several product group revisions are currently ongoing or approaching: Detergents and Cleaning Products (adoption expected end-2026), Tourist Accommodation Services and Indoor Cleaning Services (end-2027) and Textiles, furniture, and mattresses (2027–2029).
SMEs can participate at different levels of engagement, from receiving updates to contributing actively to position papers and EU Ecolabel Board stakeholder meetings. Time commitments are designed to be realistic for small businesses.
