Sustainable Business Calls For Ambitious Implementation Of The European Green Deal – And More

Sustainable business calls for ambitious implementation of the European Green Deal – and more

Brussels, December 8, 2023 – With the 2024 European elections ahead, Ecopreneur.eu – the European Sustainable Business Federation – calls on policy makers to prioritise ambitious implementation of the European Green Deal, economic incentives and the creation of 100 Regional Circularity Hubs.

Europe must shift towards circularity to help bring back our economy within planetary boundaries. The European Green Deal underpins this structural change. However, it is not enough. To create the required business environment, Ecopreneur.eu calls for:

  1. Ambitious implementation and enforcement of the European Green Deal. Without this, the new laws are not effective.
  2. Economic incentives to create a level playing field for sustainable business models. The flow of money determines what actually happens, and sustainable products and services are typically more expensive.
  3. A European network of 100 Regional Circularity Hubs to support SMEs with implementing sustainable business models and comply with the new regulations.

As part of the total framework, these measures will enable reaching the climate, circular economy, and biodiversity targets for 2030 and 2050.
