A preliminary study by Ecopreneur.eu suggests a positive overall impact of future EU circular fashion on supplying non-EU countries (new job opportunities, lower adverse impacts on the environment, better education, true prices, improved quality, durability and industry resilience are the main potential impacts), but stresses the need for further research on this topic.
Ecopreneur.eu attended a Circular Economy Breakfast in the European Parliament as a member of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) Coordination Group. Stakeholders from civil society, business and policy had an open dialogue and agreed on three crucial elements to create a new economy: Economic Incentives (pricing), Transparency (on producer and consumer side) and Just Transition Mechanisms.
Ecopreneur.eu, the European Sustainable Business Federation, welcomes the European Commission’s plans for a European Green Deal with a Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP). We particularly welcome the inclusion of the circular economy and the recent endorsement of a long-term strategy for climate neutrality by 2050. Depending on its realisation, it can generate strong traction to low-carbon circular products and services.
